Blockchain and Healthcare

Blockchain has a wide range of applications and uses in healthcare. The ledger technology facilitates the secure transfer of patient medical records, manages the medicine supply chain, and helps healthcare researchers unlock genetic code.

Blockchain’s ability to keep an incorruptible, decentralized, and transparent log of all patient data makes it a technology rife for security applications. Additionally, while blockchain is transparent it is also private, concealing the identity of any individual with complex and secure codes that can protect the sensitivity of medical data. The decentralized nature of the technology also allows patients, doctors, and healthcare providers to share the same information quickly and safely.

Blockchain and Current System

Contemporary healthcare information systems are exceptionally fragmented. While growing volumes of personal healthcare data are being created by a plethora of sources — from physicians to pharmacies, laboratories to hospitals, even our mobile phones, and smart devices — the information remain, in almost every case, isolated within data silos — segregated and inaccessible from outside the confines of closed and proprietary systems. Not only is this inefficient, but it restricts the ability of a healthcare provider to operate with the most complete set of patient information available in real-time in order to deliver optimal health outcomes.

Say Hi to ClinicBank

ClinicBank is a decentralized health record system currently being worked on by our team to enable patients take control of their health records.

We are working on creating a world where everything you have in your health record gets put into the blockchain, and then you manage those records — I have my health record, then I go to a doctor and grant access to my records.

Leveraging on Blockchain’s open access which enables changes to an individual’s Electronic Health Record(EHR) (new imaging, procedures, labs, prescriptions) to be updated in real-time on the blockchain and instantly available to parties involved in an individual’s care (health care providers, pharmacies, insurance companies, the patient), there will be no more issues with compatibility of different EHR systems.

The platform would serve as a protocol and not storage to an individual’s health data hence, making it incorruptible, secured, and fully decentralized.

$CIB — The Token

CIB token is a patient-centric healthcare information system coin bringing patients a portable, interoperable, decentralized, integrated system for managing their personal electronic health records. The token will enable people to securely own, control, and earn money($CIB) from their personal medical information, while also furnishing health care providers and researchers with better real-time access to data.

The token gives patients the opportunity to earn as updated medical records on the blockchain would earn you a certain amount of CIB tokens, asides the opportunity of using the tokens for payment for medical services, it provides a unified registration with health facilities managers as one registration on the platform covers the entire health facilities using this platform.

This is just a snippet of what the CIB token will be used for. We admire you to prepare for our crowd-sale which will be announced.

We will share more information about the tokenomics of $CIB in our next article. Cheers, and stay healthy!
